This year the University and Student Union put in a lot of effort to try to minimise the effects of the mess left in areas with large student populations like Katesgrove after the end of term. However, it is obvious from complaints we got from residents, it's not there yet by a long chalk.
It's why both Gareth and myself have been in dialogue with the University and the council for over a month over the lessons that need to be learned from the end of year. Given our work on this, it's nice to see the other parties both attempt to leap on this fast moving bandwagon at this late stage. I hope they don't fall off trying to board.
Once again if you want something done about a problem, ask a Lib Dem. It you want to see someone gurn in a press release, please contact the other two parties!
