London Street contraflow bus lane closure

I've just been advised that the contraflow bus/cycle lane on London Street is to be closed overnight next Tuesday to allow for emergency repairs to a water main.

The exact timing of the closure is 9.00p.m. on Tuesday 9 March 2010 to 5.00 a.m. Wednesday 10 March 2010.

I await with interest what effect this has on the increasingly annoying illegal and dangerous parking around the Tesco Express store, on which I long for some serious enforcement action.

Every morning I walk to work, without exception, there is a van delivering to the Tesco Express store at circa 0715hrs. These vans are always parked in the bus lane, blocking it just beyond a bus stop.

The stock being unloaded is always taking up about half the pavement, and often more. This was made worse during the snow earlier in the year as these were completely blocking the section of the pavement that was gritted.

They're just a pain.
